So last week X was all a buzz with Elmo’s post about checking in. Some days I wake up and feel ready to tackle the world, but some days I wake up feeling a little run down, worn out, less than or just kind of blah. But if you are at all like me, you probably don’t believe you have the luxury of leaning into this feeling and are stuck having to rally…. While it doesn’t always work – here are some things that help me, pep up.

- Say something nice to the first 3 people you interact with – I am a FIRM believer in paying it forward. And when you take a moment to give positive input to someone else, most of the time, if you are paying attention, you get to see it register on their face … and that moment almost always feeds my soul.
- Dress Happy. What does that mean? It depends entirely on you. For me, most of the time it either means, wearing something bright, pink or if I really need it, my literal Happy sweater.

It may seem silly, but this simple sweater reminds me to smile, so I call it my happy sweater. And while that doesn’t always pull me out of a funk – it definitely doesn’t make it any worse.
3. I’m more prone to blahs during the winter months… maybe it has something to do with the shortened days. So sometimes, throwing on something warm and snuggly is enough to make me feel “soothed” and that too can help.

And when in you really need an extra boost to pump you up… adding a furry friend almost always helps.

What do you do to fight the ‘blahs’? I would love to get any and all of your ideas – please drop me an email and let me know.
